Born and lived in Washington, DC until her family quit the city for the suburbs of Virginia when Clare was still very little. As the eldest of five a lot was required of Clare inside the family. A connectedness and a sense of community came from being so close and involved with her cousins, 25 of them in all.
Clare grew up in Northern Virginia until her last years of high school and left to complete her studies in Florida. Later Clare returned to Virginia for university studies. While at university she began running on the cross country & track team which gave her a love for running she sill has even now.
After receiving her Bachelors degree, Clare began her career in the arts and worked for two orchestras in the area as a Public Relations Director, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and Arlington Symphony.
For several years, Clare was Public Relations Director at DBI, Inc Interior Design Firm in Washington, DC, then left to work as a consultant to clients that needed public relations expertise.
In 1995, Clare’s husband’s company sent her family to France, where they lived for more than ten years. She began working there initially on engineering projects and then found a position in marketing and public relations. While at the advertising agency, Execom, Clare managed the projects of international clients and completed a Masters Degree in Marketing and International Commerce at the University of Paris West.
