About the project
Six years after the pandemic, academic recovery remains out of reach for most students, and states are increasingly diverging in policy. CRPE's 2026 State of the American Student report explores how states are addressing challenges in literacy, math, career readiness, and AI. Together, we helped CRPE bring these findings to life through an interactive web report and a print edition that highlights policy gaps, compares state progress, and identifies actionable approaches to improve student outcomes.
